Played like Crazy Eights, Vuno is a perfect game for reinforcing students' understanding of syllable types. Perfectly aligned with the Science of Reading, now every student will be able to boost their decoding skills! We designed this game to grow with the student as he or she learns new skills. It can be played with just CVC words, until each subsequent syllable type is learned. Students become experts at knowing their syllables, enabling them to correctly identify each and every vowel sound they encounter while playing this game.

For an extra challenge, we wrapped the same skill building into VUNO II with Nonsense words, to even further strengthen their reading skills. This version of the game uses detached syllables taken from common multisyllabic words like dis-tract or oint-ment.
